Butterflies

2020

This painting expresses the experience of anxiety, represented by a face enclosed in the belly, whose cry goes back to its origin. The fragmented body reveals invisible pain, inner fractures made visible by the pictorial gesture. Despite these inner wars, the female figure stands tall, her gaze at once serene and almost cruel. It floats in a fluid, almost maritime space, embodying peace, magic and calm. Between tension and appeasement, the work embodies the silent struggle and the strength to stand firm.

Oil on canvas, mixed technique: glaze superimpositions, figurative and symbolic work, contemporary surrealist approach
