Biography
Born and raised in Safi, in a creative environment where he was introduced to the practices of pottery and
to his aesthetics since his childhood, which has had a lasting impact on him.
After studying scenography at (ISMC) Ouarzazate, he obtained a professional license in
cinema, audiovisual and mediation in Cadi Ayad - Marrakech.
He worked as a decorator for electronic music events or for interiors, he also developed a pictorial practice with the arts of pottery, as well as a nourishing interest in audio-visual mediums.
Amine NAIMA won the Green Olive art residency grant for fall 2022 and has exhibited in Morocco, England, USA, South Korea and Vietnam.
Curious and interested in learning and mastering new techniques and new concepts, Amine wishes to increasingly broaden the range of his mediums and subjects.
Artistic approach
My paintings are inspired by the geometric grammar of my Afro-Berber culture and ancestral endogenous practices.
These abstract patterns inspired by mathematics reflect my state of mind and result from my experiences in scenography and staging of the performing arts.
I also practice meditative painting, the principles of which I learned from traditional pottery artisans.
This multiplicity of subjects and media comes to me from my childhood in Safi, rich in symbols, techniques and appropriate knowledge of the city's master potters.
These reminiscences from my childhood nourish and unite my entire multidisciplinary practice.
