Born in 1999. Lives and works in Martil in the north of Morocco.
A graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan, Anas Guermouj approaches art as a message addressed and readable by all. Taking the opposite view of academicism by choosing his subjects from popular Moroccan daily life, he makes visible the plastic expressions inherent to our ordinary lives.
Young artist, still researching, learning and perfecting. His current approach tends to further his knowledge and mastery of the different mediums and materials that he experiments with in his work.

Anas Guermouj considers art to be a language understandable to the greatest number of people. He likes to go against academicism by choosing his subjects from Moroccan daily life. His work aims to make visible popular expressions and their omnipresent plastic representations in our ordinary lives.
His research focuses on generalized social behaviors in Morocco, in particular through means of transport which include different graphic and idiomatic elements. These signs are indicative of multiple identities. This urban poetry encompasses a set of references and codifications carrying iconic, aesthetic and literary messages.
From this formal and conceptual repertoire, he develops a visual practice which takes shape through series of paintings, drawings, collages, installations, as well as audio-visual productions.
