Chouaib Chkairi is a visual artist who lives and works in Casablanca.
Graduated from the Casablanca School of Fine Arts in 2020, Chouaib considers himself a jack-of-all-trades artist. He knows how to adapt to current trends and enjoys discovering new means of expression. He oscillates between painting, sculpture, photography and installations.
Equipped with a pastel palette, Chouaib explores in his latest artistic productions the notion of -the ain- or the evil eye, superstitions and their impact on daily life.
His work has been the subject of exhibitions such as the 41st edition of Moussem d'Assilah in 2019, the collective exhibition at the Hassan II media library in Casablanca in 2019, the collective exhibition at Casa Tramway in 2020, the individual exhibition at the Mine d'art gallery in 2021, the collective exhibition at the Villa des arts in Casablanca in 2022 and finally the Street Art inside 2.0 exhibition organized by the Hiba'lab in Rabat.

This is a series of works themed on my psychic relationship with others. I often see others from a suspicious point of view.
With regard to my later experiences, I completely dissociated my existence from that of the people around me.
I have created an imposing and solid separation in my life that isolates me from those who are not me; others.
A superposition, a movement, a dance of shapes that intertwine to represent the crowd of people who can surround me at each stage of my life and then the appearance of an eye, the one that often brings bad luck for the superstitious, “the evil eye” or commonly called “l3ayn”; all its elements describe this relationship that I have with others.
