Biography
Mohamed Mehdi AliBouha was born in 1993 in Chichaoua. Very early on, he was captivated by the colors that he began to manipulate before entering primary school in Chichaoua. It was by practicing painting that he studied and obtained a bachelor's degree in human sciences. His path was clear and it would lead him after which I completed my studies at the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan, of which he will be laureate in 2020. He participated in several art forums, between 2012 and 2015 and won the first national prize in painting in 2015, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the first regional prize organized by the Ministry of Culture in the Marrakech-Tensift Al Haouz region the same year. He also participated in several international forums, including twice in Egypt and once in Tunisia between 2015 and 2018.
Artistic approach
Mohamed Mahdi ALIBOUHA is a multidisciplinary artist who has put into equations in his works the multiple formal and conceptual ramifications around the authoritarian and increasingly hegemonic phenomenon of surveillance.
His vocation as an artist was precocious since he drew very early to exorcise the fears and superstitious anxieties that haunted his harsh countryside of Chichaoua (Marrakesh region).
During his solo escapades, he developed an interest in entomology by observing the “microcosmos”.
It is at this moment that he begins to question the power relations which link the subject to the object viewed. His artistic interest in the issues at the heart of liberticidal technologies which trade our personal data to worsen generalized security control was undertaken during his end-of-studies research at INBA in 2020
