Biography
Mouad EL BISSAOUI (Marrakech, 1996) is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist, laureate of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan.
In 2022 he won the Mustaqbal Special Jury Prize !
Artistic approach
In a sarcastic tone, Mouad EL BISSAOUI is currently reflecting on the (in)games of power and the instruments of political, economic or social manipulation.
Through his diverse artistic practices, mixing different mediums (drawings, installations, performances, etc.) he deconstructs the dominant languages and underlying discourses which attempt to standardize individuals.
He also integrates scriptural practices into his approach, mainly inspired by Arabic poetry, the composition and eloquence of which he admires.
