Graduated from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan in 2021, I also simultaneously obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology and actively engaged in learning opportunities in performing arts, particularly in music and theater. Through multidisciplinary practice, I have been able to explore the range of possibilities offered by visual arts in a dual physical and performative relationship, combined with a metaphysical inquiry into the ontological nature of this discipline.
In my approach, I perceive artistic practice as an ethics that prioritizes self-transcendence to envision formal and conceptual constructions conducive to shaping a more or less near future. In doing so, I consider art as a prophetic system of knowledge that fosters the awakening of consciousness.

The paradox that the soul breathes into the body does not always imply absolute death. When we sleep, we depart from the body, which remains alive. We undergo this small death on a daily basis to stay alive. The act of entering a state of slumber is one of our vital functions. In this regard, death and life are corollary and complementary states. These various contemplations revolve around the transfers and invisible journeys of the soul within our corporeal vessel, which regularly inspires it.It is humbling to have experienced events that made one’s childhood different from that of peers. During one Sunday of their childhood, they fell asleep during the day due to a peculiar state that kept them awake all night. In a moment, they witnessed their father saying to their mother, « Poor thing fell asleep. » And he switched off the light, oblivious to the cries of his son, calling out, « Dad, don’t turn off the light, I’m still trapped here… »
At the time, young Mustapha did not realize that he was instinctively engaging in the experience of being outside of himself (astral travel). In another experience, Mustapha, as a child, bid a farewell kiss to a corpse. His tears flowed even before he raised his head, saying, « What made me cry is something other than separation or loss. » After a while, he attended numerous funerals for close friends until he started feeling that he was nearing his own death. It didn’t take long before he found himself preparing for his own demise by cleansing his body...
Mustapha states that death has become a sacred freedom for him. And his works, whether in the form of photographs, installations, or performances, strive to embody this involuntary metaphysical journey through the quadruple evanescence that gives us life: that of water, air, light, and our soul.
All of my experiments can be regarded as a necessary metaphysics to tame death and give meaning to life.
