Born in Taza in 1991 and self-taught, Salma Zaghba moved to Casablanca at the end of her veterinary studies in Rabat.
After exploring several media including drawing, painting and photography, it was during the confinement of 2020, and following a deep introspection, that she oriented her artistic practice towards abstract painting mainly. His work aims to treat and arouse emotion in the viewer.
In 2021, Salma Zaghba participated in two group exhibitions in Casablanca; “Reflection” at the Living 4 Art gallery, then “Yesterday, today, tomorrow” at Artorium-Fondation TGCC.

I started painting intuitively and trying to bring out my different emotional sensations.
I use a formal and chromatic language that is very personal and capable of transmitting the different nuances of my emotions. My formal approach gives importance to color, better able to communicate these rather abstract sensations.
My work evolves in a quest for in-depth reflection. This evolution is fueled by the desire to control what I create, hence the lines in the “Orage” series which mark this search for precision.
