This work illustrates the chosen isolation of an individual suffering from schizoid personality disorder. He has taken refuge in a mental bubble, a personal planet with two moons and a sun. Hidden away in a room in a house in the middle of a forest, he comes out only sporadically to observe the Earth and its inhabitants through a telescope, maintaining a safe distance.
