Said Sabbah, artist name "DAIS", was born on October 4, 1990 in Meknes, cradle of Hip-Hop culture in the Kingdom of Morocco.
From a young age, Saïd immersed himself in this emerging culture in Morocco, notably by observing the city's B-Boys who practiced breakdancing in the living rooms of his cousin's family home.
Very quickly, Saïd was fascinated and took a liking to this street culture.
At the age of 13, he tried his first sprays of paint on the walls, in the company of his childhood friend, Rabie (Peace to his Soul). Together, they created their first PRG crew. Their favorite playground (and expression) takes place on the railway tracks during their teenage years.
Many memories and anecdotes mark this period because the graffiti phenomenon is still little known in the kingdom and there is always a risk of painting outdoors...especially in "Vandal" mode!

DAÏS is becoming more experienced and asserting itself in the graffiti world, participating in workshops or festivals such as “Freestyle Urban Dance” in Meknes, “Boulevard” in Casablanca, “Street art” in Tangier, etc.
At that time, DAÏS made do with the means at hand (limited choice of colors due to lack of bombs) but he always sought to innovate and create his own style.

At the same time, he pursued studies related to his passion and obtained his diploma in 2012 (building technician and topographical operator).
2013 marks an important date for him, thanks to the “remparts d’Azzemour” festival, which brings together big international graffiti artists. DAÏS carefully observes and humbly learns from these models.

In its approach, DAÏS draws inspiration from Arabic calligraphy, quotes “every child is an artist”, and Moroccan cultural and traditional heritage.
It was by scrutinizing the manufacturing of carpets by Berber women that he shaped the typical style of DAÏS, playing on colors as well as vertical and parallel lines, with the famous “paint drips” effect. specific to some of his works.

Fascinated by the painting of Fatna Gbouri (1924 – 2012), he visited numerous carpet manufacturing workshops and cooperatives in Khenifra and Marrakech, meeting and exchanging with the artisans, and drawing inspiration from the choices of patterns, colors, and the technique of weaving... He subsequently began preparatory work on sketches from which he designed his works.
