Where is this world going on! Said Sabbah (Dais)

This exhibition expresses DAÏS’ point of view on the contemporary world. In his artistic approach, the artist is inspired in particular by the Moroccan carpet. Fascinated by the painting of Fatna Gbouri (1924 – 2012), Dais visited numerous carpet manufacturing workshops and cooperatives in Khenifra and Marrakech, meeting and exchanging with the artisans, and drawing inspiration from the choices of patterns, colors, and the technique of weaving… He subsequently began preparatory work on sketches from which he designed his works. A new series resulting from this work will be presented in the premiere at the Gallery of the French Institute of Meknes.

Born in Meknes in 1990, Saïd Sabbah (DAÏS) is a graffiti artist and painter. IHe took part in the most prestigious events dedicated to Street Art: Jidar, Sbagha bagha, Casa Mouja… signing numerous frescoes in Morocco and internationally. He recently participated in La ville avant soi, a collective exhibition dedicated to Urban Art at the Atelier 21 gallery in Casablanca.
