Getting rid of clichés to rely on the indeterminate work of art to broaden the perception, the experience inevitably experienced in the face of the work of Jilali Gharbaoui. Through the exploration of techniques, supports, themes, composition, drawing, color, touches and figures, of Gharbaoui’s creations, we will attempt to grasp this reconversion of the gaze that he indeed carried out, among other artists of his time (Melehi, Chebaa, Belkahia), by rehabilitating Moroccan memory in its secular pluralism then by questioning its fundamental paradigms: a methodological deconstruction of the aesthetic logocentrism of Western art to decolonize Moroccan and Arab plastic thought from an ambiguous visual heritage, shaped by time, theology, wars, colonization, the orientalism of two centuries, forgetting and ignorance, while being open to the plastic modernity underway in the world.
