Disappearance is a series of drawings that I started at the artistic residency of the Montresso Foundation in Marrakech. Through this project, I continue to reflect on balance – but in a less illustrative way than the “Maintaining balance” series, a reflection on identity, and on the accumulation of contradictions which characterizes being human, who can be an angelic being, but at the same time full of obsessions and primitive instincts. Visually, I start with a drawing based on a realistic and academic perception of my self-portrait. Then, and with a completely different attitude and state of mind, I improvise with a marker on the initial drawing (which can destroy the work) by experimenting with the sense of risk to arrive at a result that may work, or not.
